Child Safety Standards

As an NDIS provider, Live Free is dedicated to delivering high-quality, person-centred supports while upholding the highest standards of safeguarding.

We actively uphold the 10 National Principles for Child Safe Organisations and the Universal Principle of cultural safety for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, as outlined in the Child Safe Organisations Act 2024 (QLD).

Our Approach to Child Safety

Our safeguarding approach is guided by the SAFEGUARDS Framework which align to the 10 National Principles:

S – Strong Leadership & Culture

Leadership promotes a strong culture where child safety and wellbeing are embedded across governance, systems, and daily practice.

A – Active Child Participation

We listen to children, take them seriously, and ensure their voices are heard, respected, and acted upon.

F – Family & Community Engagement

We work in partnership with families and communities to support child safety, wellbeing, and inclusion.

E – Equity & Cultural Safety

We provide safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive environments where every child feels valued and respected.

G – Governed & Suitable People

We ensure all staff and volunteers are safe, suitable, trained, and supported to uphold child safety and wellbeing.

U – Understand & Respond To Concerns

We respond to concerns and complaints promptly, transparently, and in a child-focused manner.

A – Aware & Trained Workforce

We equip our workforce with the knowledge, skills, and ongoing training required to keep children safe.

R – Risk-Safe Environments

We create and maintain environments that are safe and minimise the risk of harm to children.

D – Driven By Continuous Improvement

We continuously review, learn, and improve our safeguarding systems and practices.

S – Systems, Policies & Accountability

We maintain clear policies, procedures, and systems that ensure accountability and effective safeguarding.
