Free Style Theatre provides an opportunity for people to experience team work, share fun, meet people and make friends, belong to a group, practice cooperation and interoception, practice motor skills, build a sense of competence and improve communication.
What are the Benefits of Theatre for Neurodiverse People?
This learning program combines the love of theatrics with games, skill building techniques, and celebration.
Each theatre production is run over a 4-month period so participants can learn about the theatre, rehearse, and then perform unique plays. Participants must commit for the duration of the program as they are involved in every aspect of production, including prop preparation.
Tailored Leaning Program
All Come Connect Activities hosted by Live Free Support Services are delivered using Principles for Universal Design for Learning so they provide an accessible, safe and inclusive environment.
Participants will be supported to opt-in at their level of comfort to develop their motor, communication, social, and executive functioning skills when they undertake their roles on the stage or backstage.

NDIS participants aged 12 years and over can join the Free Style Theatre.
How Many People are in Each Theatre Production?
The Free Style Theatre cast and crew is capped at 10 people. Group ratio or 1:1 support is provided based on each individual’s needs.
How Often does the Theatre Group Meet?
Each Free Style Theatre production runs over a 4 month period. The theatre group meets for practice each Thursday between 4-6pm at the Uniting Church Hall on Campbell St in Rockhampton.
The Program of Support wraps up with stage performances, open for family, friend,s and everyone you know!
What is the Cost of Joining the Theatre Group?
There are no activity costs. Non-face to face costs of 15 minutes per customer are charged for program development, preparation clean-up, and progress reporting.
Support (and transport if needed) may be covered under Core or Capacity Building.
